When we use energy matters as The National Grid is powered by a mix of both renewable and non-renewable sources, the balance of which fluctuates throughout the day. To launch Power Move, a new OVO product that rewards customers for shifting their energy use into greener, off-peak times we made the energy sources of the National Grid visible.

Introducing The Greener Grid, the world’s first advertising campaign connected to the National Grid. The campaign was powered by our Greener Grid API, a new technology which determines the National Grid’s greenest moments of the day, to signal the most sustainable times to use energy. Developed by Goodstuff and Assembly, our algorithm plugs into National Grid ESO data in real-time, reporting every 30 minutes on the levels of renewables powering the grid, and advertising based on the sustainability status of the National Grid. A first-of-its-kind media innovation. With Saatchi & Saatchi and our key partners, we collaborated to connect our API first throughout an out-of-home poster network, then into homes by creating the Power Nap Alexa Skill.
