Honey Jamie

Account Director (Trading), Alight Media

As a part-time carer for my Mum, I had to start working straight from school. Through my first job at a McDonalds drive-through, I discovered a talent for customer service which led to a Vodafone call centre, and then our industry as a campaign manager at JCDecaux. Whilst navigating my challenges of neurodiversity and helping to support my family, I was promoted to a trading role, before moving agency-side to Talon and then to Alight in my current role.

At the same time, I started my second career - giving back to my community. Building on my own experiences, I’ve always wanted to make a difference and over the last five years I’ve been a Special Constable, Local Women’s Officer and was the first BAME and youngest Councillor to represent Harrow-on-the-Hill.

I’m proud of my media career but also proud of the difference I’ve made on issues that matter to me. I’ve campaigned and spoken on BBC and Channel 5 News around sexual harassment and why women feel required to learn self-defence. I was also proud to use International Women’s Day to help champion the Red Box Project initiative, which fights period poverty in schools by providing donations.
