A Prison’s Guide To…Using Audio

Having the right number of prison staff is critical for the safety of prisons and the capacity to rehabilitate prisoners, but Ministry of Justice were facing a significant shortfall in staff. We worked with Acast Creative to produce a pioneering 4-part podcast series called “A Prison’s Guide To…”. This bespoke series hosted by Actor Doc Brown, provided us with a unique opportunity to demystify the inner working of prisons and debunk myths about jobs within the prisons service in a compelling but authentic way.

This bold and innovative audio idea brought to life daily experiences in prisons in a way that successfully led to a +60% uplift in consideration and attracted 13,500 job applicants in January – the highest direct applicants for the prison officer role since November 2020.
